Brian Flynn MVB

Director


Brian is a veterinary graduate from UCD and has 28 years of veterinary experience, Brian plays a mixed role in both farm and companion care, with a strong focus on companion animals. He has a particular interest in orthopaedic surgeries. 


Outside of work Brian enjoys cycling and is a proud supporter of his local club, Clonguish, especially in soccer and gaelic football.

Donagh Mc Donnell MVB

Director


With over 30 years of veterinary experience, Donagh is dedicated to all aspects of mixed veterinary practice, with a special interest in equine veterinary.


He is also heavily involved in the local rugby club Longford RFC, where he coaches underage teams following his recent term as club president.

Harry Ferguson MVB

Director


Harry is a UCD veterinary graduate with 25 years of mixed practice experience, he has a strong passion for herd and flock health and reproductive care in farm animals. Outside the clinic Harry enjoys showing his home bred pedigree Angus cattle and supporting his family in their many sporting pursuits.

Céara McDonnell DVM

Veterinary Surgeon


Céara graduated from Warsaw Veterinary College in 2021. Having worked in mixed practices in Cavan and Roscommon. She joined our veterinary team in 2023. She enjoys all aspect of mixed practice in particular sheep and surgeries.


Her past times include sheep farming, gardening, social dancing and taking care of her many cats

John Salmon MVB

Veterinary Surgeon


John Graduated for UCD on 2011, having worked in mixed practices in the west and south of Ireland prior to joining Longford Animal Health Centre Team of vets in 2022. Having come with a wealth of experience, John has a mixed farm and companion role in our practice.


His favourite pastime is GAA with his home club Tang, Westmeath and is also known to take to the stage in song.

Laura Shaw MVB

Veterinary Surgeon


Laura comes from Mullingar is a UCD graduate of 2024 and joined the LAHC team in September 2024 bringing fresh energy and valuable skills to the team.  She is eager for continuous learning and professional development by participating in the 2 year vets graduate programme this aligns with the commitment to excellence at LAHC.

Vera Bowes RVN

Veterinary Nurse


Vera hails from Leitrim, Graduated as a RCVS veterinary nurse in London in 2008, having gained a lot experience in busy emergency rooms in city hospitals. Vera joined our LAHC team in 2022. She is an incredible asset to our team, always compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated to providing the best care for every animal. Vera enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a particular interest in dentistry and radiography.


She enjoys attending to her sheep, caring for her cats and dogs and also like to cook

Rachel Feeley RVN

Veterinary Nurse


Rachel comes from Roscommon, graduated from University Limerick with an equine science degree in 2014     and then followed her dream to Australia, where she continued to study as veterinary nurse and graduated from Tafe Tamworth NSW in 2018. Rachel joined our team in 2020, bringing with her a wealth of experience on both equine and small animal nursing having worked in large city hospitals. Her dedication, compassion and expertise shines through everything she does and is committed to providing top quality care especially in wound management & surgical nursing.


She loves to take to the piste skiing on her holidays and travelling.

Kathryn Casey

Veterinary Nursing Student


Kathryn is currently studying veterinary nursing at TUS Athlone and works weekends in Longford Animal Health Centre.  She is passionate in animal care and recently welcomed two adorable puppies Bob & Charlie into her life.

Doris Mc Cord

Administration


Doris is member of the reception and admin team for the past 2 years, she assists with the handling queries in the TB test department, while also coordinating vets schedules daily and supporting the rest of the team.


Outside of work Doris is kept busy looking after her family pets including three dogs Bear, Diesel and Ranger. In her spare time Doris enjoys walking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Anne Halligan

Accounts


With over 17 years of dedicated service to LAHC, Anne is our experienced accounts administrator. Anne plays a crucial role in the financial operations of our practice, managing all accounts, she is known for her attention to detail and her excellence.

Outside of work she enjoys walking and doing yoga

Mikala Brown

Receptionist


Mikala joined our team in April 2025, originally from Cavan, she brings a wealth experience from her Animal Care qualification in Cavan & also additional qualifications in veterinary & medical reception. She is a welcoming and knowledgeable first point of contact at our practice.

Una Mulligan

Practice Manager


With over nearly 25 years of dedicated experience with LAHC, Una oversees the daily operations ensuring that the practice runs smoothly and efficiently. Her leadership focuses on building a cohesive team that shares a common goal of delivering exceptional veterinary care with compassion and professionalism. 


Outside work Una enjoys all sports, she is an active member of Killoe Ladies GFC and is dedicated to giving back to the community & supports her family in various activities and endeavours.
